Nikita specialises in all aspects of criminal law, but has particular expertise in drugs, sex, violence and traffic cases. She has been successful in discharge without conviction applications, name suppression, opposed bail hearing, diversion, pre-trial, vacation of guilty pleas and Judge Alone Trials. Nikita has significant trial experience both as a Prosecutor and Defence Lawyer.
Nikita has worked as a Prosecutor for four years and was previously employed by the New Zealand Police. Nikita has also worked in general practice for two years and the community law centres around New Zealand.
Nikita was admitted to the bar in 2013. She graduated from Victoria University in 2012. She studied a Bachelor’s of Commerce and Law.
Nikita has a special interest in litigation and working in areas of drugs and violence. Nikita became a criminal defence lawyer to make a difference in the community and to work in a role that is crucial to the administration of justice and securing the rights of individuals in the criminal justice system.
She is passionate and determined to do her very best to protect the rights of her clients. Whether it’s in the police station helping a vulnerable person deal with hostile questions from a detective or working late into the night before trial because she has found a legal argument that might win the case, she has a desire to ensure that her clients get their right to a fair trial and get the best outcome possible.
Out of the office Nikita enjoys long walks on the beach and watching movies, her favourite is Shawshank Redemption.
