Domestic Violence

Charges may include assault on a female/person in a family relationship, breaching protection orders and more.

Domestic violence is a common predicament that people find themselves in. These cases are very difficult because they involve people you care about, including children.

It can be easy for people to make allegations that are untrue.  We have commonly encountered cases where these types of allegations are made for some other purpose including obtaining a visa, child custody or financial motives.  We can assist you in preparing a robust defence.

Domestic violence can repeat in cycles in the family unit and these are learned behaviours that may never have been addressed.  We can help you in a supportive way to get to the root cause of what has occurred and point you in the right direction to get help.

We will balance all of the competing interests, give you honest and clear advice, and help work out what is best for you and your family. These cases often involve protection orders and family Court proceedings. We will speak to your family lawyer to ensure that there is a clear process for Family Court proceedings and your criminal charges.

We are also able to skillfully negotiate bail for you, given that one party may need to move out of the family home.
