Hussain is a criminal defence lawyer with experience across criminal, family, Waitangi Tribunal, and civil matters. He began his legal career  in Tokoroa, where he appeared regularly in the District Court on PAL1 and PAL2 matters. Hussain has completed the Duty Lawyer course and has conducted Judge-alone trials.

Hussain continued to develop his advocacy through complex criminal and public law work, including contributing to the Fiji Commission Against Corruption Commission of Inquiry Report and several Waitangi Tribunal Kaupapa Inquiries in his time at Phoenix Law.

Hussain is passionate about criminal law, particularly cases involving violent offending. He believes in thorough preparation, fairness, and empathetic representation, ensuring that each client is heard and their rights are protected.

Outside of law, Hussain enjoys reading, art, walking his dog, and travelling to new countries. He also speaks Farsi, and is learning Te Reo Māori.
